Four southern border provinces had 1,892 new cases (+56) and three new deaths (-11), while 67 other provinces recorded 6,248 new cases (-37) and 59 new fatalities (+24). No existing health conditions were mentioned.īangkok recorded six more deaths (down from four reported on Friday) while another 11 were logged in two adjacent provinces - nine in Samut Prakan (+7) and two in Samut Sakhon (-1). The one-year-old child who died was from Chiang Rai province. By nationality, 72 were Thais, one was a Myanmar national and the nationality of the other was not specified. The Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration said in the afternoon that the 74 new fatalities were aged one month to 98 years. The highest number of cases was 23,418 on Aug 13. The kingdom’s all-time 24-hour high of Covid-19 fatalities was 312 recorded on Aug 18.
The death toll stood at 18,605 during the third wave and 18,699 since the beginning of the pandemic. Since the pandemic started early last year, there have been 1,841,131 Covid-19 cases, with 1,720,629 complete recoveries so far.
